Ingredients

  • 200 gr Nychaki rice  •
  • 800 ml water  •
  • 1 medium-sized white cabbage, cut in slices  •
  • 1 dried onion  •
  • 1 clove of garlic  •
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste  •
  • 200 ml red wine  •
  • 1 cinnamon stick  •
  • 2-3 cloves  •
  • 100 gr raisins  •
  • 20 gr pine nuts, roasted  •
  • Olive oil  •
  • salt  •
  • pepper

Cabbage rice with Nychaki rice, raisins and pine nut

Sauté the onions and garlic in a pot with the olive oil, over medium heat until brown. Then, add the cabbage and sauté for 3-4 minutes, then gradually add the Nychaki rice, tomato paste, and wine.

Add the water, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then add the raisins and cook over medium heat until sticky. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with roasted pine nuts sprinkled on each plate.
